Wrapping Things up for 2017
Well it appears that this year is swiftly coming to a close and the new year is upon us.
I want to thank you for supporting my writing endeavors and reading my stories. It truly means the world to me.
And as we wrap up 2017, I wanted to mention three things.
1. End of year sale for Dad Was Right
In April I released my first book, Dad Was Right: 10 Lessons a Father Taught His Son.
Until the first of the new year, Dad Was Right will be priced at 99 cents.
Originally it was available exclusively through Amazon. It’s also now available from Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and numerous other e-book stores.
You can pick up your copy of Dad Was Right at the bookseller at this link: books2read.com/dadwasright
2.Let’s Help Out Some Wounded Veterans
As a writer, I’m a huge proponent of Free Speech, Thought, and Expression.
I’m extremely grateful to the wisdom of the Founding Fathers for the First Amendment.
Yet, Free Speech and the entire Bill of Rights could easily disappear if brave men and women were not willing to fight for America and the liberty we all hold dear.
Since the September 11, 2001 attacks on America, our military has been actively fighting in many different hot spots around the globe.
Numerous brave Americans never came home from these battlefields.
Many others did return, but with serious wounds and disabilities to both body and spirit.
That’s why I want to mention to you a group called One More Wave.
One More Wave is a non-profit group founded by Navy SEAL Alex West that works with wounded and disabled veterans in their journey of healing — by helping them surf.
Here’s a video Starbucks produced about One More Wave earlier this year.
One More Wave is an exceptional way to support these courageous veterans.
If you’re contemplating any end-of-year charitable giving, I ask that you consider donating to One More Wave at this link.
Any support you can provide will go to help disabled veterans in their journey of healing as they catch, One More Wave.
3. Coming Soon: The Return of Elvis Presley!
I’m happy to say that the King is coming back in 2018!
Colonel Parker, can you get me a Cadillac? Uh huh!
This fall I completed a short novel titled Cloning Elvis.
It’s a fun little story about a greedy music producer who manages to clone the Elvis Presley.
But rather than reproducing the lip-curling, hip-swiveling, hillbilly cat who took America and the world by storm in the mid-1950’s, the Elvis he’s cloned is from DNA obtained in June 1977.
Now the producer’s got a fat, bloated Elvis who’s addicted to prescription drugs — and likely to die if some major lifestyle changes aren’t made fast.
At this time Cloning Elvis is being reviewed by some early readers and covers designs are being submitted by various artists.
I’ll keep you posted on this and hope you’ll help me pick the right cover for Cloning Elvis.
Again, I thank you for reading my stories and supporting my writing career.
I wish you and yours the best in 2018!
